Single Tooth Replacement

While our priority is always to preserve and strengthen natural teeth, conservative restoration isn’t always viable. In some cases, a dental implant can be the most predictable option. Designed from the ground up, each component of a dental implant replacement is customized for our patients. From digital planning and dynamically guided implant placement to the custom-made final restoration, we’ll manage each step of the journey. In many cases, a failing tooth can be extracted and an immediate implant placed in a single procedure.

The Dental Implant Difference

A dental implant allows a replacement tooth to be anchored directly to the jaw bone just like a natural tooth would be. Adjacent teeth are left untouched. It’s less invasive than the previous practice of bridges. And that’s not the only benefit.

Hygienic

Since a dental implant supported tooth is free-standing and is not connected to adjacent teeth, it can be cleaned with a toothbrush and floss just like natural teeth. Compared to traditional bridges, there is no need for complicated floss threaders. Furthermore, modern dental ceramics and exceptionally smooth and stain resistant.

Bone Density Preservation

Chewing on a dental implant directly stimulates bone density maintenance of the jaw bone. Without these forces, as with a bridge, removable denture, or leaving the space un-restored, the gums and jaw bone naturally begin to shrink and lose density in the site of the missing tooth.

Comfort

There are a multitude of reasons why teeth may require replacement with a dental implant. The symptom that they all share, however, is discomfort. No matter what the cause, removal of the offending tooth and replacement with an implant is a step towards regaining the comfort, effortless function, and esthetics that you were born with.

Exceptional Longevity

Dental implants are one of the most durable and successful treatments available today. Performed correctly and with proper professional maintenance, dental implants can endure for decades. It is not uncommon for implants placed 30 years ago in our clinic to be still functioning well today.

Not necessarily. In most cases, the cause for being a “poor implant candidate” is a lack of sufficient bone volume. Advances in bone augmentation and implant design allow implants to be successfully placed in sites where they previously were not possible. As Certified Specialists, our role is to deliver predictable treatment that maximizes what is possible with current, proven dental techniques.

While our team is an expert in maximizing the utilization of your dental insurance benefits, most insurance plans, unfortunately, do not cover the majority of dental implant treatments. Canadian health insurance does not extend to complex dental care at this time. To make expenses more practical, payments may be made in installments spread over the total treatment duration.

We always strive to minimize discomfort throughout the entire treatment process. Fortunately, discomfort is very rarely more than what results from removing the offending tooth. The implant placement procedure itself is comparatively non-invasive. Post-operative discomfort is readily controlled with a combination of off-the-shelf analgesics such as Ibuprofen (Advil) and Acetaminophen (Tylenol).

Absolutely. When teeth are missing, dental implant-supported restorations most closely resemble the function, comfort, and esthetics of natural teeth. They provide chewing strength and comfort that is superior to any removable denture or traditional bridge supported by adjacent natural teeth.

The pre-operative workup for dental implants involves a thorough patient history. In almost all cases, dental implants are an exceedingly safe procedure provided that meticulous surgical and treatment principles are adhered to. Dental implants are documented in the scientific literature to be successful 98.5% of the time. As a team of led by Certified Specialists, we are equipped with the necessary technologies, training, and experience to ensure that your treatment is carried out in the safest manner possible.

Indefinitely. While complications related to wear and tear do occur, dental implant treatment is one of the most durable treatments available today. Constructed correctly and with proper professional maintenance, dental implants can endure for decades. It is not uncommon for implants placed 30 years ago in our clinic to be still functioning well today.

Dental implant treatment duration can vary from 3 months to 9 months start-to-finish depending on the unique circumstances of your case. The main limiting factor is the rate at which the jaw bone heals and whether any bone regeneration was performed. An interim provisional tooth will always be provided when needed.
